It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Drum, a loving husband to Marion Drum, devoted father to Sharon Drum, William Drum, and Maureen Fagin, and doting grandad to Greta and Jules Fagin and Rowan and Ellis Drum. He is also survived by his adoring sons-in-law Tom Kieber and Josh Fagin, and daughter-in-law Ellen Drum.
Bill passed away on November 3rd at the age of 88. Born in Brooklyn on August 19, 1936 to Charles and Bridie Drum, he grew up in Bushwick, where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife. He became a longtime resident of Valley Stream, and was known for his kindness, strong work ethic, and love of big band jazz. While working full-time, Bill earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Hofstra University. He enjoyed a long and successful career with NY Telephone/Verizon, as well as Tishman Speyer, and was also a passionate do-it-yourselfer at home, well into his 80s. Bill was a faithful member of the Holy Name of Mary church community in Valley Stream.
His blessed life will be celebrated with a Visitation at Lieber Funeral Home on Thursday, December 12, 4-8pm, a Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Cathedral, on Friday, December 13, 11am, with Internment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park
