Trevor Williams Obituary

Trevor Percival Williams affectionately known to family as “Junior” was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, on July 10, 1950. He was the fifth child for the late Eastant and Violet Williams. Trevor and his 5 brothers and 4 sisters were raised in the Greenwich Town/ Greenwich Farm area of Kingston. Trevor’s parents were known in the local community to be very strict, god-fearing parents, who instilled great values into all their children.

In 1968 Trevor migrated to Brooklyn, NY to join his older brother Danny. Trevor found his natural career start as an Emergency Medical Technician/Ambulance Driver at St. Mary’s Hospital. In 1972, his life would change when he would meet the love of his life Rosemarie Thomas who was also a native of Jamaica, W.I. Trevor & Rosemarie were married in September of 1973 and their family quickly grew with Rosemarie’s daughter Karen “Debbie” Taylor and the newlyweds welcomed their first child together in June of 1974 with the arrival of their daughter, Nyla. In April of 1989 the family grew even further with the arrival of a baby boy, Christopher.

In 1982, Trevor’s relentless ambition and drive took him into entrepreneurship. Trevor leveraged his knowledge and experience of driving ambulances to start Rose Ambulette Service. Trevor would further his entrepreneur spirit in when he started T&RW Auto Repair later named Speedy T’s Auto Repair. He loved to play cards, slam down dominos, and most of all horse racing. Trevor’s ambition, and vision to always dream big propelled him to be more than a fan of the sport but to try his luck with horse ownership. He found success with horses named Coy Catcher, Becky’s Shirt, Elegant Mercedes, Gotta Get Up and Little Keisha. Trevor was an avid sports fan, and die-hard New York Knicks fan. His favorite movie was, “The Godfather”.

During retirement Trevor enjoyed spending time with his vibrant and intelligent granddaughters Annorah Lee and Sofia Bass while continuing to enjoy the social uplift of being with his friends and fellow “Turfites” at the racetrack. Unfortunately, Trevor’s health took a serious downturn in 2017. Trevor who was well respected for his strength and resiliency would battle until his very last breathe. Trevor was predeceased by his parents and brother Errol.  He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Rosemarie, Sisters: Sonia, Sandra, Jenny-Ann, and Charmaine, Brothers: Lascelles (Danny), Winston (Bow), Patrick (Tony) and O’Neil, Daughters: Karen and Nyla, Son: Christopher, Granddaughters: Sofia and Annorah.  As well as countless loved in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends
