In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Thomas Ianne, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, at the remarkable age of 95.
Tom was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent his career with the New York City Transit Authority, where he served as both a mason worker and track worker. A true jack of all trades, he mastered skills in plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry. His selflessness and generosity were unmatched—he was always ready to lend a hand, drop everything, and fix whatever needed fixing, no matter the task.
Beyond his work ethic and talents, Tom had a zest for life that never waned. He loved the outdoors, finding peace and joy in fishing and hunting. He had a passion for travel, enjoying countless cruise vacations and making road trips both near and far to spend time with his cherished family.
Above all, Tom was a devoted caretaker. He lovingly tended to his wife, Lee, and son, Tommy, during their final days, embodying compassion and strength through life’s greatest challenges. In his final years, he was lovingly cared for by his daughter, Cathy, and her husband, Phil, whose dedication and love gave him comfort and peace.
He is survived by his cherished daughter, Cathy; his adoring grandchildren, Charlie and Dena; and his five treasured great-grandchildren, Charlie, Caroline, Declan, Chase, and Liam. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were lucky enough to know him.
Tom led a beautiful, long life filled with love, laughter, and service to others. Though he will be deeply missed, his stories, lessons, and unwavering kindness will remain with us forever.
A celebration of his life will be held at Lieber’s Funeral Home on Saturday, December 14th from 2pm-5pm. May he rest in eternal peace
