Suzanne Giselle Daniel: A Life of Strength, Dedication, and Love
Born: July 19th, 1942 | Died: October 3rd, 2024
Suzanne Giselle Daniel was born on Sunday, July 19th,1942, in Dondon,
a beautiful small city in the North of Haiti, to Franceline and Diomede
Daniel. Growing up alongside two sisters and two brothers, Giselle’s
early years were filled with family, love, and the values of hard work
and independence, which would shape her life.
In the early 1970s, Giselle moved to Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, in
pursuit of new opportunities. She began her career in construction
material sales at Georges Hasboun, where her determination and
dedication quickly set her apart. Known for her tenacity, Giselle rose to
the position of sales manager. Eager to carve her own path, she
established her own business, Giselle Enterprise, marking the beginning
of a successful entrepreneurial journey. As a businesswoman, she earned
respect for her resilience, integrity, and ability to thrive in a challenging
industry, setting an inspiring example for those around her.
In the summer of 2004, Giselle migrated to New York, seeking new
opportunities and connections. She stayed until 2005 before traveling to
Miami, Florida, to visit her sister Zulie. Her plans to return to Haiti were
postponed due to a surge in crime in the country, but this delay gave
Giselle the chance to deepen her roots in the community. In Miami, she
became actively involved in volunteer work and contributed to her local
church, Notre Dame D’ Haiti, serving others with the same commitment
she had shown in her professional life.
By 2021, as she grew older, Giselle moved to Valley Stream, Long
Island, where she lived with her son Georges Cadet, daughter-in-law
Youlawatie Hardeo Cadet, and beloved granddaughter Lia Franceline
Cadet. This chapter of her life brought her great joy, as she cherished
spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. Giselle’s
love for her family was central to her life, and she embraced her role as a
mother and grandmother with pride and devotion.
Throughout her life, Giselle maintained a deep connection to her Haitian
roots. She enjoyed sweet treats, ice cream, and soda, often bringing joy
to those around her with her lively spirit. Her hobbies reflected her
vibrant personality—she loved cooking, sewing, and taking long walks.
She was a fan of Telenovelas, finding comfort in the drama and
excitement of her favorite shows. But above all, her spiritual journey
remained a cornerstone of her life. Every day, Giselle would read the
Holy Bible, listen to Haitian Gospel music, and reflect on her faith. Her
unwavering belief in God guided her through all of life’s challenges and
triumphs.
On Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, Suzanne Giselle Daniel passed
peacefully, meeting the Lord Jesus Christ. Her life, marked by hard
work, love, and faith, leaves behind a legacy of resilience and devotion.
She is survived by her brother, Martin Daniel; her son, Georges Cadet;
her daughter-in-law, Youlawatie Hardeo Cadet; her granddaughter, Lia
Franceline Cadet; several nieces and nephews, and members of the
Daniel, Menard, Cadet, and Nelson families.
Giselle’s journey was one of perseverance, love, and unwavering faith.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were
touched by her kindness and strength.
