In Loving Memory of Ruth Evelyn DeGeorge

May 09, 1928 – October 14, 2025

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ruth Evelyn (née Crevoiseret) DeGeorge, who left this world peacefully on October 14, 2025.
Born in Hewlett NY, Ruth, lived a life defined by kindness, righteousness, and an untiring devotion to her loved ones. She was more than a mother—she was a safe place, and a source of encouragement and advice.

Ruth dedicated her life to raising her children in Valley Stream and then had a fulfilling career as a secretary for American Airlines for 20 years. She found joy in tending her garden, golfing, reading, needlepoint, genealogy and her new home in Palm Desert California enjoying an active retirement for 36 years.  She shared that joy generously with everyone around her.

Ruth leaves behind her daughters Carol Earnhart, Nancy Lieber, Eileen Dohrmann, Barbara DeGeorge and 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  She is now reunited with Morris John ‘Dee’ her husband of 62 years and Paul, her son.

We will be honoring Ruth with a Funeral Mass on Monday October 27th at 10AM at Blessed Sacrament Church.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the BrightFocus Foundation so her spirit may continue to help others. 

Her love was a gift, her presence a blessing, and her memory will forever be a comfort.  She may be gone from our sight, but she’ll never be gone from our hearts.
