Rose Calderone passed peacefully into heavenly glory on the morning of August 5, 2025. Her
Lord and Savior was waiting for her there, along with her husband Charlie, her son Robert, her
parents, and her brothers and sisters.
Rose was born on January 9, 1928, in Brooklyn. She was the loving daughter of Joseph and
Margaret Ciasulli. She was one of nine siblings, adored sister of (all late) Sadie, John, Bob,
Jerry, Thomas, Eleanor and Joe in Canarsie, NY. She graduated from Franklin K. Lane High
School, and on May 29, 1954, was married to the love of her life, the late Charlie Calderone.
They were married for 67 years.
She and her husband moved to Valley Stream from Brooklyn in 1964, and raised her son Robert,
who predeceased her, and her daughter Donna (Tom). She began to attend the Bethlehem
Assembly of God in Valley Stream in 1983 along with her husband and daughter. She loved
singing in the choir. She enjoyed going to the senior bible study with her husband every
Wednesday. Rose and Charlie were in awe of everyone’s knowledge of the Bible. They often
became close to many couples in the church, sharing many fun times and enjoying fellowship
together. Each week brought her closer to God and stronger in her faith. She was a prayer
warrior; her favorite thing to do was to pray for others.
Rose was a loving wife and mother, devoted to her children. She and Charlie took care of
Robert, who was ill, for 30 years. No obstacle would ever get in her way; she pushed through
with love and devotion to give her best. She not only was a mother but a nurse, a caregiver and a
best friend. She was a devoted grandma to Ronnie (Namhee), Michael and Sara. They were the
love of her life.
Rose had a heart full of love for everyone. She was truly selfless, sweet, kind and a loving
person. She adored all her nieces and nephews and all their children. She beamed with joy being
around everyone.
She will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her Lord, love of her family,
and love of her church.
