Robert, Aka "Bob" Keenan, died peacefully at the age of 93, alongside family at Long Island Jewish Hospital on Friday, January 3rd, 2025 in Valley Stream, NY.
He is survived by his beautiful wife Diane, brother Richard, children Debra, Kenneth and son-in-law Thompson, his grandchildren Kyle, Kraig, Kory, Elly, Kristofer and Caitlyn, his great grand dogs Thor, Lassen and Shasta, and his expected great grand daughter, Elowyn Keenan Bush.
He was born on August 6th, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Margaret Keenan. After completing his army service in the 1950's, he met and married Diane Keenan on June 21st, 1958, whom he would remain married to for 66 years until his passing. Over the course of 5 years, the couple welcomed 3 beautiful children.
His children remember him as a loving, thoughtful, supportive and hardworking father who could always be counted on.
Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating on the water and being at the beach, and woodworking/carpentry. He was a selfless, generous individual who loved his family and grandchildren. He was a devout member of the Knights of Columbus, and a former ice hockey, baseball and basketball coach for his children.
Bob always put his family first, being loving, patient, loyal, and he was seldom, if ever, angry. He was known for driving roundtrip to NJ 6 hours daily to provide for his family, and for often working two jobs.
He will be most missed for his loyalty to his family, incredible smile, chicklet teeth, always having a cigar in his mouth, and for creating amazing lasting memories for generations of family.
