Raymond T. McEnerney

Raymond T. McEnerney, 84 of Valley Stream, NY, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 21, 2022. Ray was born to Amos and Mary McEnerney on June 16, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY.

Ray was a loving husband, step father, grandfather, friend and neighbor.  He was quick to lend a hand to those in need.

Ray is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol and his brother, Gerard. He also leaves behind step-daughters, Debbie, Jean, Rose, and Carolyn as well as his grandchildren Rachelle, Michelle, Jacquelyn, Jonathan and Jeanna and his two cockatiels Chief and Sid.  Ray is predeceased by his one sister Arlene and his parents.    

Ray was a longtime member of The Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Valley Stream NY; he proudly served our country in the United States Marines and was also a member of the NRA.   Ray retired from the NYC Transit Authority after many years of dedicated service.   

Ray especially enjoyed the holidays! The family could always count on him for his festive decorating abilities and his amazing assortment of gourmet chocolates and pies.   Ray affectionately went by the name “Poppa Cheese” to his grandchildren, he was known for his good sense of humor, joking nature and love of animals. He will be missed by all.
