Ramon M. Barrameda

Ramon Marfil Barrameda, 65, devoted husband, father, and brother, died on Sunday June 12, 2022 in the presence of his loving family at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY.

Affectionately known as Monching to his vast circle of family and friends, he was born in Laguna, Philippines on March 17, 1957 and was the seventeenth child and seventh son born to Pedro Barrameda and Rosario Marfil. He attended Rizal Institute (Don Bosco) in Canlubang and graduated from The Medical City College where he became a life-long member of the Alphi Phi Omega (Beta chapter) fraternity brotherhood.

Monching emigrated to the United States with his then-bride and infant son in 1980.  He lived and worked in Woodside and Jackson Heights in Queens, NY as a nurse for many years before moving to Valley Stream, Long Island in 1992 to raise his growing family.

Always the entertainer and life of the party, Monching was best known for his sharp wit and endless sense of humor. He remained his playful jokester self throughout his final days and untimely passing. His deep love for life, laughter, and family will be remembered with fondness for all eternity.

Monching is survived by Wilma, his beloved wife of 43 years, his most cherished son and daughter, Peter and Hazelyn, son-in-law Paolo, his siblings Elsa, Marina, Maria Fe, Edith, Cora, Sylvia, Maria Rosario (Baby), Jose (Joebarr), Loida, George, Noel, and his many nieces and nephews.

A devout Catholic, Monching joins his parents and siblings Ernesto, Myrna, Cecilia, Danilo, Raul, Pete, Mario, and Oscar in eternal light.

Reposing Thursday June 16, 2022 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at Lieber Funeral Home in Valley Stream.

Funeral mass is Friday June 17 at 10:00AMat Blessed Sacrament Church in Valley Stream.
