Peter Ciardulli Obituary

Peter Ciardulli was born in Brooklyn in 1933 and lived to celebrate his 90th birthday.  His parents, Thomas and Lucia were born in Italy settled and raised their childrenin Brooklyn.  Peter was the youngest of 3 children. His brother, Biagio (Bill) and his sister, Marion predeceased him.  He served as an Army Medic in the Korean War and was proud to serve his country.  He worked in McKesson  & Robbins Drug Company where he met the love of his life, Nettie.  They married in 1957 and went on to have 5 children; Barbara, Annette, Peter, John & Gina and raised them in Richmond Hill until he was transferred to Buffalo in 1976.  After a year and the Blizzard of ’77, he relocated to Valley Stream, Long Island to start a new business, P&C Transmissions Parts, with his brother-in-laws, Tommy & Sally.  He lost his wife in 1984 after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.  He never remarried.  His motto was “one life, one wife”.  He lived in the same house for 44 years.  He was a devout Catholic, had a very strong faith and worshipped religiously at Blessed Sacrament.  He loved his family above everything else.  He had 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren who he enjoyed spending time with.  He was a die-hard Metsfan and he passed that on to his family.  He loved going to his grandkids’ games, playing ball with them, going on vacations and telling stories. Some of his favorite pastimes were handicapping, betting the ponies, doing the Jumble, solving Sudoku, playing trivia games, playing cards, and watching Alias, Tarzan, Star Trek, Blue Bloods and NCIS. His favorite way to spend Father’s Day was at Belmont Park with his family.  He was able to retire at 65 and enjoyed spending time with his family in Arizona and their trips to Vegas and Italy.  He always wanted to “do good” and in his retirement, volunteered weekly at his church’s Food Pantry.  He lived a long, wonderful life and his family and those who knew him will miss him dearly.  Heaven has gained another angel.  Until we meet again.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
