Patricia A. McQuade

Patricia Ann McQuade, a longtime resident of Valley Stream and Island Park, NY, peacefully passed away in her adopted home of Florida on March 10, 2022.
Whether you called her Trish, Tricia, or Pat, you could never call her boring.
Seemingly always in a hat, heels and Halston, and the prettiest girl in the room, Trish could charm and talk to anyone. Within five minutes of meeting someone – a waiter, the butcher at the supermarket, a mechanic or whomever – she knew their whole life story, and in many cases remained friends long after their first encounter.
A love of music, traveling, cars, cooking and collecting, Trish knew how to enjoy life and tried to help everyone enjoy it as much as she did. Whether it was dancing with her father Greg at countless family parties, long weekends at the Algonquin Hotel with her mother Pat and sister Maureen, going to concerts and on cruises with her brother Brian, or long road trips with friends, she was always on the go.
But she was just as happy at home cooking holiday dinners, planting and picking tomatoes (a lot of tomatoes), spending 7 hours on Christmas Eve opening presents with the whole family, or just watching repeats of Columbo.
Born and raised in Valley Stream, NY in the family home of three generations, and later in Island Park, Trish was a true Long Islander. She remained friends with many of those she met at Holy Name of Mary Elementary School, Maria Regina High School, regulars at the Nightcap on Rockaway Boulevard and everyone she knew from so many summers on Fire Island.

Trish is survived by her brother Brian, her sister Maureen (wife of David Strano), her Scotty dog Ringo and countless friends, many of whom she had for almost 50 years. Beautiful on the inside and out, she was someone hard to forget, and so will be remembered – and missed – by all who knew and loved her.
