Omar Jean Claude Delmas was a son, brother, nephew, cousin, and beau, as well as a friend to all who had the pleasure of being in his presence.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 26, 1976 to Marie Carmelle and Jean Claude Delmas. Throughout Omar’s upbringing, he was never short on love, as evidenced by his welcoming spirit and genuine warmth that touched everyone he encountered.
When Omar was 3-years-old, the family moved to the Rosedale section of Queens. Although this was the attainment of the American dream for a young Haitian family, they were not wholly embraced by the neighborhood at the time, which is a stark contrast to today’s demographic.
At the age of 6, Omar embraced the assignment of being a big brother to Levar with grace and represented the essence of responsibility and guidance with unavowed assuredness.
Omar went to St. Pius X Parochial School until high school, where he then attended Thomas Edison Vocational Technical High School in Jamaica, Queens. While pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at Queens College, Omar simultaneously worked as a server at numerous restaurants throughout Nassau County. Post-graduation in 2001, Omar obtained a position within the Social Security Administration. Through unwavering dedication he ascended into the position of Operational Supervisor, showcasing his remarkable work ethic and leadership skills. Amid the totality of these experiences, Omar amassed a multitude of lifelong friends, associates, comrades, cohorts, and colleagues.
Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him can attest to the profound impact he had on their lives. Omar’s kindness, wisdom, and quick-witted sense of humor left an indelible mark, creating lasting memories and forging connections that will be forever cherished.
Omar had a way of making everyone feel valued and understood, whether through his words of wisdom or his genuine interest in others. He touched the lives of many and left behind a legacy of love, respect, and admiration.
Omar was renowned for his celebratory aura, love of travel, and debonair fashion sense.
Despite health challenges, Omar’s resilience continued to shine through. His beloved confidant Mia tenderly cared for her cherished love until his passing. Their bond is a testament to enduring love and the strength found in caring for each other. Mia remained Omar’s beloved confidant, sharing a journey of love, laughter, and companionship until his transition.
Omar will forever be cherished by a host of family, friends, colleagues and associates. May his spirit forever guide us and may his memory be a source of comfort and love for all those who had the honor of being a part of his life.
