Olga Leonora Daniel, nee Gravesande, was born on May 2nd, 1926, in Spikeland, Upper Demerara River, Guyana and died peacefully, at home in Laurelton, New York on June 9th, 2023.
She was the fourth child of William and Ivy Gravesande. At the age of twenty, on December 26, 1946, she married Luke Evangelist Daniel. Together, they had seven children, to whom she devoted her life.
Soon after being married, she moved to Georgetown, where she lived until she migrated to the USA, on October 13, 1991, under the sponsorship of her sister, Jeanette.
New York became her new home, a place she loved dearly. Here, she worked as a Nanny, for a short time, but mostly took care of her grandchildren, while living with her daughter, Yvette and son-in-law Basil. She enjoyed cooking and showing off her talent as a Chef! She became a member of St Claire’s Roman Catholic Church Community and attended services and events, regularly. She never missed a Bingo Night!
Olga was a loving matriarch, who led with strength and compassion. She lived a full life and lit up the room with her smile.
She leaves to mourn:
6 children: Leon, Raymond, Luke, Diana, Curtis and Yvette (Tyrone predeceased her in 2019)
2 Daughters-in-law: Bibi and Pat
2 Sons-in-law: Godfrey and Basil
3 Sisters: Norma, Jeanette and Aloma

1 Brother-in-law: Alan
23 Grandchildren
