Norma M. Bartolo

Norma M. Bartolo, a lifelong resident of Valley Stream, passed away peacefully at home on May
27, 2025, at the age of 95.

Norma was a cherished presence in her neighborhood, having lived on the same block for 83
years. She was proud to be the last remaining original homeowner, a testament to her deep roots
and enduring love for her community. She was surrounded by the kindest neighbors and a
devoted team of compassionate healthcare workers, Gloria, Maria, and Dion, for whom the
family is deeply grateful.

She worked for many years at her brother’s accounting firm in Massapequa but devoted her heart
to her family. Her happiest times were summers with her children—beach days, fishing trips,
Valley Stream pool visits, and family gatherings in the Hamptons—always made special by her
delicious cooking, especially her seafood dishes.

A woman of deep faith, Norma was a devout Catholic and a prayerful person. The presence of
prayer books and devotionals on her kitchen table spoke volumes about the role of faith in her
everyday life. Norma was known for her kindness, humility, and deep gratitude. Her love of
family, steady presence, and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Gerard, with whom she would have celebrated 65
years of marriage on May 28th, as well as her parents and brother. She is survived by her
children, Gregory and Mary; daughter-in-law, Donna; son-in-law, Neal; and her cherished
grandchildren, Alexa and Thomas.

Norma’s legacy of love and quiet strength lives on in all who knew her.
