Murlin Pearl Gayle, nee Eccles, nee Morgan, age 88, a resident of East Patchogue, NY, passed away a few minutes to midnight, on Monday January 29th at the Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, (formerly known as Brookhaven Hospital). Pearl, as she is more commonly known, is predeceased by her daughter Andrea, three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her dear sister Verna Harris, four younger siblings from her dad's subsequent marriage, her two daughters, Grace Colquhoun-Gardener & Heather Morgan and her son, Rudy Morgan, (PhD). She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Stephanie, Casey, Gabrielle, Lindsey, Kristel & Kathryn and seven great-grandchildren: Bryen, Jade & Justin, Mason, Kennedy, Eli & Marc.
She was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies and migrated to the US in June 1980. Pearl had a profound impact on the lives of all she came into contact with. In her capacity as a nurse, she showered compassion and kindness to her patients and all alike. Her heart was full of love for Jesus Christ, and her faith strong. One couldn’t help but see God’s light shining through her to everyone she came into contact with. Pearl will be forever cherished by her family, numerous relatives in Jamaica, the USA and in Europe, as well as her church family at The Elmont Seventh Day Adventist Chapel. May her spirit forever guide us and her memory be a source of comfort and love for all those who had the honor of being a part of her life.
