Mary Failla Micucci was a beloved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and the matriarch of her family. Mary found her greatest joy in having her family gathered together, most often around a shared meal. She expressed her love through cooking, often greeting family members with the question, “Did you eat?”
Born and raised in The Bronx, Mary met the love of her life, her husband, Michael, a World War II veteran, at a local dance. They married in 1949 and later moved to Valley Stream, NY where Mary spent most of her life before moving to Seattle to be near family several years ago. She is survived by her daughters Michele, Judi, and Jackie, her grandchildren, Brittany and Nova, and her nieces and nephews, Franceen, Toni, Teresa, John, and Raymond. She is predeceased by her husband, Michael, and her dear sister, Rose.
Mary was a devoted animal lover. She adored her Yorkshire Terrier, Duncan, whom she proudly brought each year to be blessed on the Feast of St. Francis. Her faith was a steady source of strength, as she attended Sunday Mass, prayed the rosary, and found comfort in the rosary group at her senior living community.
Mary’s legacy lives on in her family through a shared love of animals, good food, and time spent together.
