Mary Borgese, a beloved friend, neighbor, and lifelong resident of Valley Stream, New

York, passed away peacefully at the age of 88.

Born on August 9, 1937, in New York City, Mary was the cherished daughter of Andrew

and Antoinette Florio. She later made Long Island her home and spent most of her life

in Valley Stream, where she became a familiar and respected member of the

community.

Mary dedicated many years of service as a Code Enforcement Agent, earning the

respect of colleagues and residents alike through her professionalism, dedication, and

commitment to serving the public. Beyond her career, Mary was known for her warm

heart, vibrant personality, and unwavering loyalty to her family and friends.

Throughout her life, Mary cultivated countless friendships and was actively involved in

numerous organizations and social groups. Among the communities she treasured most

was the Long Island Beach Buggy Association, where she shared her love of the beach,

the outdoors, and the camaraderie of fellow members. Her enthusiasm for life,

adventurous spirit, and ability to connect with people left a lasting impression on

everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Margaret Liatto, and her cherished

niece, Andrea Liatto Loyal. While their loss was deeply felt, there is comfort in knowing

that Mary has now been reunited with them in Heaven.

Mary will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and the genuine

friendships she built over a lifetime. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a

legacy of love, friendship, and cherished memories that will endure for generations.

Though she will be greatly missed, Mary’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew

and loved her.
