It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marion Drum, who joined her recently departed beloved husband, William Drum, in eternal life. Marion was a devoted mother to Sharon Drum, William Drum, and Maureen Fagin, and doting grandma to Greta and Jules Fagin and Rowan and Ellis Drum. She is also survived by her dear sisters Doris Greenspan and Elizabeth Eike, and is welcomed to Heaven by their eldest sister, Sophie Ferchland. Her adoring sons-in-law Tom Kieber and Josh Fagin, and daughter-in-law Ellen Drum also mourn her passing.
Born on November 23, 1936, to Edgar and Charlotte Koster, she grew up in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband. She became a longtime resident of Valley Stream, and was known for her big heart and absolute devotion to her family. She had a beautiful voice, was a skilled artist, and, together with Bill, could really “cut a rug” out on the dance floor. Marion was a faithful member of the Holy Name of Mary community in Valley Stream.
Her blessed life will be celebrated with a Visitation at Lieber Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 18, 4-8pm, a Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Cathedral, on Thursday, December 19, 9:45am, with Internment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
