In Loving Memory of Margarita Ortiz
Margarita Ortiz, born on March 25, 1946 in Ecuador, passed away on May 3, 2026. She made her home in Valley Stream, New York, where she built a life centered around family, love, and an unwavering devotion to those around her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Israel Ortiz, and her beloved children: Alfonso Gavilanes, Sixto Gavilanes, Gloria Gavilanes and Efraín Ortiz. Margarita’s legacy also lives on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy in her life.
Margarita was a most wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt as well as a dear friend to many. She had the gift of bringing family together and used to be the heart of family gatherings, ensuring that love and togetherness stayed strong throughout generations. Her warmth, loyalty, and care made everyone feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.
