Margaret Williams peacefully passed away at home on July 22, 2024, surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Brooklyn in 1948 and grew up in Valley Stream. She approached life with zeal, an endless sense of humor, and just a bit of craziness. She touched the lives of everyone she met, but, above all else, she valued her family. Marrying Thomas A. Williams in 1971, she was a loving mother to Alexandra Sullivan (43) and Christopher Williams (41), and stepmother to Thomas J. Williams. Her seemingly endless love extended to her grandchildren, Samantha (14), John (11), and Matthew (9) Sullivan, and step-grandchildren, Evan Williams (23) and Veronica Wolfe (10).
She was no shrinking violet and was always ready to undertake a new adventure, usually with her sister, Georgiana “Bebe” Johnston. There are no words to express how deeply she will be missed by those around her.
In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, she will be missed by her son-in-law, John Sullivan, daughter-in-law, Jessica Scott, nieces, Christine and Kathleen Harington, and more friends and family than can be named.
