M. Lamercie C. Lubin
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Lamercie Lubin (Cicie), at the age of 81, on Thursday, January 16th, at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital. A devoted mother, cherished friend, and beloved member of the community, Lamercie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
Born on August 14, 1943, in Cayes, Haiti, Lamercie was a person of great warmth and compassion. Her love for her only child, Cara, was boundless and unwavering, and she dedicated her life to providing support, wisdom, and care. She was the heart of her family—always ready with a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or a comforting embrace. Her devotion to her daughter, coupled with her ability to brighten any room she entered, will be missed beyond measure.
In her earlier years, Lamercie dedicated much of her life to caring for others, beginning with newborns, where her nurturing spirit made a lasting impact. Later, she found fulfillment in caring for the elderly, offering not only nursing care but physical and emotional comfort. She was known for her kindness, empathy, and unwavering devotion to those in need.
In her retirement, Lamercie found joy in a variety of hobbies that reflected her curiosity and love for beauty. She was an avid birdwatcher and had a deep appreciation for flowers, often spending hours in nature, captivated by the simple wonders around her. Traveling to new places was another passion—she enjoyed exploring different cultures and landscapes, always eager for new experiences. Fine dining was something she truly enjoyed , finding delight not only in great meals but in the artistry of culinary craftsmanship. These interests and passions filled her life with purpose, bringing peace and fulfillment while leaving a legacy of compassion and love.
Lamercie is survived by her beloved daughter, Cara, as well as her relatives and lifetime friends: Forrestre Gerard, Ginette J. Bouchette, Antonia J. Charles, Oduy Joseph and Gisele Lyncee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carmen DuPont Constantin; her father, Alcenor Brice Constantin; her husband, Yvon B. Lubin; and some of her dearest lifetime friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, at Lieber Funeral Home and at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church to honor and remember Lamercie’s remarkable journey.
Though Lamercie has left us, her memory will live on through the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the kindness she spread. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
