Luisa Vera Filippazzo left this world in the same way she entered it. Her way. She was born on Good Friday, April 8, 1938 and passed on August 31, 2025. She went peacefully and quietly in her sleep after a long battle with heart failure and its complications. Through all of her pain and suffering, Luisa maintained her cheerful demeanor and transmitted her courage and strength to her family as we watched her prepare for her departure from this world into the next. She was humble, nurturing, altruistic, magnanimous, loving and kind. Luisa had a cheerful heart and a special way about her that made it impossible to not want to be near her. Her laughter was as contagious as her smile. Luisa’s optimism could change any skeptic into a believer. She always saw the good in everyone and the bright side in even the worst of situations. She was a faithful woman, who passed the legacy of her love for God to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The world was a better place with her in it. For eighty seven years, she served God in acts of kindness and compassion, generosity and love with everyone she met regardless of their differences. She was forgiving and compassionate with a proverbial heart of gold. She is survived by her husband Nicolò, with whom she shared 67 years of love and companionship through the sacred covenant of marriage. Her daughter Mattia and son-in-law John, son Stefano and daughter-in-law Cathy, her five grandchildren: Nicole, John, Stephanie and her husband Matthew, Nicholas, and Frank, and her three great-granddaughters: Lisell Mattia, Cira June, and Emily Rose. We will carry her in our hearts, where the vacuum of her absence has left a hole in our lives. May her soul Rest In Peace.
We will always love you. This isn’t goodbye, it’s arrivederci- see you soon.
If you choose to send flowers, please do not send lilies as Luisa was not a fan of them. We would like to continue to honor her wishes.
