Lornie was born on September 27, 1977, to Lance Ackbar and Thora Fermin in Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago. He emigrated to the United States in 1991 and attended Malverne High School in Long Island, NY. Lornie was a fun loving, kindhearted and sweet natured person who loved to make others laugh. He was the life of the party and was loved by everyone. Lornie was an avid basketball player who enjoyed being on the court. He would say “I feel liberated when I’m playing ball.” He enjoyed video games, the company of friends and family. He will be missed for his contagious smile and his charming attitude.

Beloved son, brother, and uncle, Lornie is survived by his mother Thora, sister Camille, nephews Tristan and Tyler and niece Renae.
