Lorene Thomson (Sherman)

Passed into the Lords loving hands with her family at her bedside on February 13, 2026 at the age of 89. She will be remembered as loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is predeceased by her mother and father, Lorene and Edward Sherman, her husband of 66 years George Thomson, brother James Sherman and her son Peter Thomson.

She will be missed dearly by her loving family, Linda and Carl Reasoner, Laurie Thomson and Elizabeth Halloran, Annmarie Thomson (widow of Peter Thomson), George and Jodi Thomson.

Proud grandmother of Andrew Reasoner, Colleen and Kevin Kuczynski, Christopher and Kristin Thomson, Ryan Thomson, Kelly Thomson, Brayden Thomson, and Sarah Thomson.

Proud great grandmother of Audrey and Tess Kuczynski and Riley Thomson.

During her life she enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, reading and going to the beach. Retired from the Hewlett/ Woodmere Public Library as a library clerk. She was a proud life long resident of Valley Stream and parishioner of Holy Name of Mary Church where she helped with the RCIA program.

Lorene will be laid to rest at Greenfield Cemetery with her husband and son.
