Aunt Lillian as she was lovingly known passed away at the Valley Stream home she has known for so very long. She was a child of the 50’s and known for her cameo coral ’54 ford convertible with a continental kit. As a member of the first graduating class of Elmont Memorial High School she was well prepared for her first position at Manhattan Life and her long and successful career with IBM. She fell in love with Michael Miracolo, they were married in 1964, and became the most fun couple to be with and enjoy.
Lillian was a devoted Catholic. She served as a Eucharist Minister, baked for those who volunteered at the Church each week, and could always be found behind a booth at the carnival each year. She was a true friend to all and It was hard to keep up with her loving stories and reference to friends at Blessed Sacrament Church, from IBM or from her old Rosedale neighborhood and especially those who lived on Irving Street and in Valley Stream. She was the epitome of “make new friends and keep the old,” and gave of herself and her time without question.
She spoke of her beloved cats, Annabelle and Lucy as her children along with the strays Emily, Chloe, Lily and others as her family and spent her time and money to care for them, feed them, and provide protection from the heat or cold. Lillian enjoyed her cats and being outside. She was also an avid gardener and encouraged her family, friends and neighbors to partake of her beautiful garden which included everything from tomatoes to blueberries.
Our family will miss Aunt Lillian tremendously. Her love was endless and she was there to comfort each one of us or celebrate every joyful event. As an angel in heaven Lillian is with Michael, Mom and Dad Latino and her recently deceased sister-in-law Gina. She is survived by her brother, Frank, her niece Dayna and her husband Dana, her nephew Frankie and his wife Tracy and their children, Francesca and Vincent. She is also survived by her sister, Mary and her husband Michael, their son Jim, his wife Ann and their children Eleanor, Theresa, Mary and Catherine, her nephew Tom and his wife Cyndi, their children Alexandra, Caroline and Adrian, her niece Theresa and her husband Frank, and their children, Michaela and Jacob, her niece Mary and her husband Duane, their children Evelyn and Bryce, her niece Barbara and her children Virginia and Eloise, and niece Lillian and her children Jack and Juliette.
