Kevin McNamara

Kevin McNamara, 75, passed away on June 12, 2026.

Kevin McNamara was the youngest of four children—Hugh, Maureen, and Nancy—born to Hugh and Anna McNamara in 1950. He grew up in Astoria and attended highschool at Power Memorial Academy. He spent many cherished summers at Greenwood Lake, where he forged lifelong friendships.

Kevin began his career in telecommunications at the age of 17 and remained dedicated to the field for decades. He was deeply committed to his sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous, where he was an active and devoted member since January 2001.

His passion for cooking flourished during summers spent in Montauk with his family. Kevin also loved supporting his favorite NY teams, the Yankees and the Rangers. Above all, Kevin was a devoted father and family man. He was a coach, a mentor, and a steady presence in the lives of those he loved. He shared 46 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Dan (Maureen), Kate, and Matt; his sister, Nancy; and his cherished grandchildren, Ruby and Stella. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and the many lives he touched through his work, service, and friendship.
