Karen G. Wright

Karen Georgia Wright, born Edwards, entered this world on January 3, 1971, at Buff Bay Hospital in Portland, Jamaica. She spent her early years in Jamaica before migrating to the United States of America at the age of sixteen, where she began her family and embarked on her career.

While residing in Florida, Karen attended McFatter Technical College and obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification. Upon moving to New York, she joined Montefiore Medical Center, where she pursued a Master of Science in Nursing and became a registered nurse. It was at Montefiore that Karen discovered her passion within the oncology unit, where she dedicated the remainder of her nursing career.

Karen was a lifelong learner, continuously pursuing certifications that enabled her to provide exceptional care to her patients. She excelled in oncology patient care and eagerly embraced opportunities to mentor her colleagues and educate the next generation of nurses.

Known for her beautiful spirit, Karen touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her kindness and compassion. She believed in "tough love" and always encouraged those around her to strive to be their best selves.

A passionate traveler, Karen delighted in exploring the world with her family and friends, fostering a love of travel in her daughters.

Throughout her life, Karen exhibited resilience and courage, advocating tirelessly for her patients while confronting her own diagnosis with grace and determination.

Karen is survived by her daughters, Shannel, Melisa, and Victoria Wright, as well as her parents, siblings, and a vast circle of friends.

The love and light Karen shared will continue to shine brightly, bringing solace to all who were privileged to know her.
