Karen D. Selah

"Karen was born to John & Dorothy Vitale in Brooklyn in 1948 and moved to Valley Stream at a young age. She attended Clearstream Elementary, Memorial Jr HS and graduated Valley Stream Central HS as Class of 1966. She met her beloved Henry 'Hank' Selah of Floral Park at the time she was attending CW Post and they remained soulmates through 50 years of marriage. Karen is known as a beautiful person inside and out who endlessly gave her time and energy serving the community, friends and family. She devoted countless hours to the Historical Society of Valley Stream as a past President and current Secretary. She mentored children as CCD teacher for many years at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. She was a passionate and dedicated committee member of the Nassau County Democratic National Party. 

Karen is survived by her saddened first cousins Carol, Arlene, Bob and Ken; her brother-in-law Joe and beloved niece Coleen; her heartbroken Goddaughter Sharon; and a myriad of loving cousins, friends, classmates and community members."
