"Juan Maldé, 77, was born on December 14th, 1944 and was raised in Mendoza, Argentina prior to moving to New York with his wife Stefana and two children, with two to follow. They went on to raise all four children in Brooklyn, and eight grandchildren on Long Island, where they lived until the peaceful end of his life.
He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, ability to fix anything, and delicious empanadas. He was devoted and inventive, and while he will be missed all seven days of the week, Sunday's will be especially hard without him behind the grill. Anyone that got to know him had immense respect for him, he was always the first person you would call when you needed help - whether it be a ride to the airport, moving into a new home, or fixing a leaky pipe, it brought him joy to be the constant in everyone's lives. His family will honor his legacy by continuing the traditions he started for us, and watching Argentina win the World Cup this summer."
