It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of John Michael Wolf, 42, of Rockville
Centre. John was born on January 26, 1982 at Mercy Hospital, Rockville Centre. He left this
earth unexpectedly and before he was ready to on January 22, 2025.
“Coach Wolf” was a beloved longtime gym and health teacher and coach at The Academy for
Excellence in Leadership in Bushwick, NY. In addition to teaching gym and health, he coached
Varsity Girls Volleyball and Badminton. He was a role model to his students who enjoyed and
looked forward to class and practice. John attended Valley Stream South High School and
graduated from Adelphi University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and
Sports Management. He completed his Master of Science in Health Ed also from Adelphi
University.
John loved all sports but was particularly passionate about the NY Mets, NY Jets and NY
Islanders. He played amateur golf. He loved concerts and live music especially Billy Joel,
Coldplay and Guns N’ Roses. John enjoyed skirt steak, a cold beer and only good, strong coffee
from Kookaburra.
The other loves of John’s life were his fiancé, Victoria Faustini, of Long Beach, NY, his devoted
partner of 2 years, and her 8-year-old son, Augustus. They had been busy planning every detail
of their October 4, 2025, dream wedding and were looking forward to spending many decades
together.
John will be missed tremendously by his family. They celebrated many milestones together;
many dinners and barbeques were enjoyed; and so very many laughs. He was loved and
adored by his nephews, Ryan and Kyle, and niece Lexi and enjoyed cheering them on at their
games and reporting back on their great plays. He was the beloved son of Kathy and Bill Wolf of
Oceanside, NY; sisters Kelly (Matt) of Oceanside, NY and Jaclyn (Fiancé Emmanuel and his
daughter Katelyn) of Astoria, NY. He was predeceased by his grandparents John and Evelyn
Hand and Betty Wolf.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Lieber Funeral
Home, Valley Stream. A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at St.
Ignatius Martyr Church, Long Beach.
