James B. Presland Jr.

James Bernard Presland Jr. of Valley Stream, New York passed away on July 20, 2024. He was 94 years old. Born in Manhattan, New York on January 23, 1930 to James Sr. and Margaret, he was born into a large, loving family and eventually began his own. He served his country during the Korean War, earning the rank of sergeant. After returning home, he began working as a police officer for New York City, a career that would last for 23 years. Outside of work, he participated in a bowling league and enjoyed watching baseball games. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family, whether it was for a barbecue, holiday, family reunion, or just a weekend visit. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, son, and daughter-in-law. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 72 years, father to 5, grandfather to 8, and great-grandfather to 14. He will be missed by everyone who had the fortune of knowing him.
