Jacques Bertheau Pierre was born on July 13, 1947, in Limbé, Haiti, to his loving parents,
Bertheau Pierre and Damelia Augustin. He began his early education at École Baptiste in Limbé,
where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to growth, service, and perseverance.
In 1965, Jacques moved to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in pursuit of greater opportunities. There, he
developed a wide range of skills, including his craft as a talented tailor. Committed to furthering
his education, he earned a degree in Accounting, which led him to serve in the Haitian
government as an Inspector. His dedication and leadership eventually guided him to the role of
Mayor of Gressier in Port-au-Prince.
In 1998, Jacques moved to the United States, while continuing to maintain strong ties to his
homeland by traveling frequently between the U.S. and Haiti. He was a man of few words, yet
his wisdom spoke volumes. Known for his warm spirit, he was full of life, always smiling, and
found great joy in being surrounded by family and friends.
Jacques built lasting friendships across many places, including Montreal, New Jersey, Florida,
and Boston, leaving a meaningful impact on all who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved children: Richette Nelson, Richard P. Pierre, Farrel Erickson
Pierre, Berline Bertheau, Jimminther Bertheau, Jacques Bertheau Jr., Vilarson Bertheau, Isaac
Bertheau, and Amael Josh Bertheau. He is also survived by his daughters and sons-in-law:
Achime Pierre, Frantzlie Pierre, Yeny Caroline Bonilla Pacheco Bertheau and Liney Raphael.
Jacques was a proud and loving grandfather to Rickenson Jacques Galiotte, Richelle Ashlee
Galiotte, Armany Pierre, Jamir Pierre, Victoria Henriette Pierre, Matthew Christian Pierre,
Ayden Princenton Pierre, Joshua Raphael, Josiah Raphael, Zandaya Raphael, Zeyra Raphael,
Isaac Jammpiert Bertheau Pacheco, and Angel Bradley Bertheau.
His legacy of strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom will live on through his children,
grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
