Henry H. Lenz
(February 10, 1942- January 8, 2026)
Henry (Hank) was born to Rosalind and Harold Lenz. He lived with his parents and younger
brother, Lawrence (deceased) in East Meadow, NY. Hank met his loving wife Claire at Calvary
Lutheran Church in East Meadow, where they married in 1964. They have three children: Denise
(Charles) Dammeyer, Daniel (Anna), and Cynthia. They have four grandchildren Craig, Eric,
Katie, and Emma.
After graduating from East Meadow High School, Hank attended Valparaiso University
where he received a BA in History and Long Island University where he earned an MA in
Public Administration. Hank worked as an administrator in Suffolk County and New York City.
He also taught Public Administration courses at Long Island University. Hank served as a
Republican Committeeman and Council member at St. John-Incarnation Lutheran Church. He
was also actively involved with the Boy Scouts. Hank was an avid reader and amateur historian
with a keen interest in military history. He had the title of “King of Spain” in his war gamers
club. Hank was also a member of the Long Island Miniature Collectors Society. As a sports fan,
he loved the Giants, Yankees, and Rangers.
Hank loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling with Claire. They
visited all seven continents together. In their later years, they spent time in Bradenton, Florida
and on Sylvan Lake in Hopewell Junction, NY.
A memorial service to celebrate Hank’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 11:00 am
at:
St. John-Incarnation Lutheran Church

Parking is at the Lynbrook Village Hall located diagonally across the street from the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Saint John-Incarnation Lutheran Church or Saint
