Guy Duroseau was born on March 18, 1947 as the son of Roger Duroseau and Isiana Laine in Port au Prince, Haiti and was called to eternal rest on Sunday January 19, 2025 after a long illness.
He attended Freres du Sacre Coeur/Jean23, Institute d’Etude Classic and Frank Etienne Secondary Institute in Haiti and graduated from Baruch College in New York in 1973 as an accountant.
On August 12, 1972 he married Mireille Payan, daughter of Andre Payan and Julienne Charles. He immigrated to New York in 1969 where he lived until his passing away. Guy and Mireille had 2 children Patrick and Jeffrey Guy Duroseau.
Guy had a long career at Credit Lyonnais (CALYON) as an accountant before retiring in 2010 after 34 years of service.
He was a Catholic and member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic church for 39 years.
In his healthier times, he enjoyed discussing politics and was active in civic organizations, including the Haitian American United for Progress Organization (HAUP). He also enjoyed sports, such as soccer, football, basketball and baseball, always supporting the New York home teams. Guy will be remembered as a family man and father who loved his home country of Haiti. He also who loved to eat and drink with family and friends and helping others when he could.
Guy is preceded in death by his parents, brother Marcoel Duroseau (deceased), sister Danielle Duroseau (deceased), and survived by brothers Jean Robert Duroseau, M.D. Herold Duroseau, and his sisters, Yanick Duroseau and Marie Michelle Duroseau.
As Guy Duroseau passes away, to cherish his life and memory, his wife Mireille, his children Patrick and Jeffrey, daughter-in-law Marjorie, grandchildren Christian, Christina and Sebastian Duroseau, his sisters Yanick and Marie Michelle Duroseau, brothers Herold and Jean Robert Duroseau, sister-in-law M.D. Gardith Joseph, several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families and a host of friends and acquaintances.
