Georgine Dimino died on April 24, 2022, age 75, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born Georgine Demchak on Aug. 20, 1946, in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the eldest of three siblings. She is survived by brothers Tom (Marie) Demchak and Lenny (Jill) Demchak; her nieces and nephews, Greg Demchak, Amber Collica, Blaise Licari, Patricia Billinger, and Scarlet Demchak; and companion of 40+ years, Bill Stone.
Georgine earned a bachelor’s degree from the City College of New York and a master’s degree from Hunter College. She taught 1st and 2nd grades for New York Public Schools for more than three decades. Georgine delighted in the children she nurtured, and she herself maintained a childlike awe, curiosity, and fear throughout her life. She loved to explore and traveled extensively, including months of journeying in Europe and the far reaches of Alaska. A devoted daughter, she cared for her parents, Pearl and Leonard Demchak, in their latter years.
