Georgeane A. Cox

Our loving mother, Georgeane A. Cox (nee Dolan) was born on December 16,1933 and passed away on March 17, 2023 at the age of 89. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was happiest surrounded by family and her many friends.

Georgeane is predeceased by husband James Cox and son James Cox, parents Sally Dolan-Stetter and George Dolan, stepfather John Stetter, sisters Marilyn Dolan and Betty Stetter, brother John Stetter.

She is survived by her four daughters Marilyn DeVoe, Debbie and Tom Lebovich, Georgeane and Gary Pruden, Jacqueline and Stephen DuBon, daughter-in-law Wendy Cox and good friend Lou Sena. Loving Grandmother to Lindsay (Matt), Brittany (Bryan), Taylor (Domanick), Jason (Brittany), Drew (William), Kyle (Krissy), Jake, Chelsea, Brandon and Kristen and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Georgeane was a long time resident of Valley Stream and a graduate from Valley Stream Central High School. Georgeane was the Tax Assessor for the Inc. Village of Valley Stream until she retired and moved to Florida. She was involved with the Valley Stream Fire Dept. Ladies Aux. and a member of the East Rockaway Yacht Club. Mom was an inspiration and lived life on her terms. She loved to entertain, dance and shop. She was always tending to her garden and loved decorating her home.

She got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She will forever be the Wind Beneath our Wings.
