Francine T. Vassiliou, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 68. She was born on June 29, 1957, and spent her life bringing warmth, love, and laughter to everyone who knew her.
Francine dedicated over 30 years of service to Glen Cove Hospital as a switchboard operator. Her calm and kind voice was often the first one heard in moments of uncertainty, and she offered comfort, connection, and care in even the smallest interactions. Her work was more than a job—it was an extension of her compassion and steady spirit.
Francine truly lived life to the fullest through the simple but meaningful pleasures: spending quality time with her devoted husband, children and grandchildren. Her family was her heart, and she loved them fiercely and fully.
She also treasured her friendships and loved vacationing, laughing, and creating joyful memories with the people around her. She had a light-hearted, easy way of making everyone feel welcome and loved—whether you knew her for decades or just met her once.
Francine had a rare gift—the ability to read people in a deep and beautiful way. She understood others with a quiet wisdom, never judging, always encouraging. Her insight was healing, her words were honest and kind, and her love was the kind that stayed with you.
She is survived by her loving husband, Emanuel; her children, Grace (Kieran), Nicole (Lou), and Nicholas; her grandchildren, Jackson, Declan, and Louie; and her brothers John and her twin James. She also leaves behind countless family members, friends, coworkers, and loved ones who were touched by her kindness and generosity of spirit.
Francine’s presence will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and the lessons she shared will live on in all of us. She gave us the gift of her heart—and that is something we will carry with us, always.
