Florence “Flo” Joscher.
A very special woman. Flo was born on November 23, 1926 on the Lower East Side of
New York City. Sadly, Flo passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of August
16, 2025.
Florence was a devoted wife to U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Harold J. Joscher, who
predeceased her years ago but with whom she never lost touch, speaking “with Daddy”
frequently. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother,
Flo will be remembered for her ready smile, loving heart, and her warm welcomes. She
loved her family above all else and will long be remembered for her sweet tooth, her
New York accent, and her (mis)pronunciations: “Baked Zini’s,” “Wautie-Melon,” and, of
course, “Terlet”!
She was an amazingly strong woman who was still mobile at 98 years of age – all 4
foot, 10 inches of her! Without a doubt, Flo was a true Angel on earth.
Florence is survived by her children and their spouses: Harold, Jr. and Betty Joscher;
Daniel and Karen Joscher; David Joscher and Michael Perna; and Caryann Joscher.
Daughters Pamela Sadler (and her spouse, Raymond Sadler) and Patricia Horvers
predeceased Florence and so are spared from sharing our sorrow at this time. Patricia’s
husband, Michael Horvers, resides in Maine. Florence’s grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who she loved so dearly, are just too
numerous to list here. Florence is also survived by her remaining sister, Johanna
Carfaro, who resides in Florida.
