Felipe Torre Jr. Obituary

Today we mourn the loss of my beloved husband, Felipe A. Torre Jr, who was born in Guatemala on June 2, 1964, and came to New York when he was 5-years old. Within the United States, Felipe dedicated his life to the service of others throughout his professional career, and he then devoted himself to his family and friends as he enjoyed his retirement.
After Felipe graduated from high school, he went to work for the FDNY as an EMT, which he faithfully served for 31-years in the service of saving peoples lives.  His duty to service extended to his service during 9/11, where he courageously dedicated his life for helping the victims of that tragic event, and finally during the end of his career, he devoted himself to the service of teaching new EMT's as an instructor within the FDNY Academy.
Once he left his service to the FDNY, he dedicated himself to his family.  With his wife, he planted roots within Florida and created a life together filled with love for his family, honoring his service to the FDNY, and creating joy and laughter around him.
Felipe had a contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor.  He loved good food, good friends, and good company and together, we created a good life.  Felipe was "El Gallo," my Rooster and I was his "Gallina."
Felipe was naturally a romantic who was close to me, and I will never forget the songs he would sing to me.  Felipes' favorite song was by Romeo, "Tan solo por un beso," and now what would I do for one more kiss.
As I mourn the loss of my husband, I know he would want us to celebrate his life. A life that was filled with love, created by this compassionate and caring man, who was very important to ones who knew him.
Felipe touched so lives in his short journey and will be sorely missed by the people who met him.
His three children survive Felipe; Cindy, Steven, Michael, and his large family made up of siblings who live in New York and Florida.
I will miss my husband, Felipe, and his gentleness and kindness.  I am grateful for the time we had together and am thankful to the Lord for best husband he gave me.  Until we meet again "Mi Gallo."

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
How do you know Felipe A. Torre Jr.?
We are sorry for your loss.
Help others honor Felipe's memory.
