Diosmery D. Velasquez

Our families have tragically lost our Diosmery Velasquez, 37, of San Jose de la Mata, Dominican Republic, after a brief and difficult, battle with cancer.  Diosmery passed away peacefully in her home at Valley Stream, NY, on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 7:43pm, while surrounded by family.

“Mery” as she was lovingly known to all, met the love of her life, Jorge, in July of 2011 in the Dominican Republic and came to New York on September 28, 2012.  Jorge and Mery married in November of that same year.  Her biggest and most special accomplishment  was giving birth to their son, Jorge IV.  She was a devoted wife and mother, to her two special Jorges.  She loved taking pictures (“selfies!”) with her little boy and spending time with family.  

Words cannot express our sorrow at this time, but we find some comfort in knowing that she is one of God’s angels. Her smile and laughter will be deeply missed but will forever live in our hearts. 

Diosmery, known as a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother is survived by her husband, Jorge and her 4 year old son, Jorge IV.
