Daniel James Gluck
11.6.27 – 10.8.24
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Gluck, beloved father, husband,
grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He passed away peacefully on October 8 th , 2024 at
the age of 96.
Born on November 6, 1927 in Far Rockaway, New York to Edward and Frances Gluck (née
Walsh), Daniel was known for his sense of humor, his dedication to the Valley Stream Fire
Department and Village of Valley Stream, as well as his pride of his Irish heritage.
Daniel cherished spending time in Arkville, New York creating memories with his family and
enjoying an occasional visit to the Frontier Inn. Daniel made a big impact on his community as
an active member of the Valley Stream Fire Department for sixty eight years. He enjoyed
sharing stories from his life including war stories from his time served in the United States Navy
during World War II. He always enjoyed making people laugh. For many he could be
remembered as “The Most Unforgettable Character I’ve Ever Met”.
Daniel is survived by his children, Frances and Walter Bobb, Nicholas and Denise Panzarino,
Pat and Diane Panzarino, and joins his late wife, Mary, in peace.
Daniel will be waked at Edward F. Lieber Funeral Home on Thursday, October 17 th , from 4:00
PM through 8:00 PM. A Fire Department service will take place at 7:00PM.
