Carmen L. Cosme, 81, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Up until the end Carmen maintained her faith, kindness, grace, compassion, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful experiences.
Carmen was born on April 29, 1944, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was the first-born daughter of Carmen Malave and Fernando Cosme and sister to Fernado, Ramona, Ana Ruth, Norberto, Nydia, Minerva, Aida and Nerida. She is survived by her children, Richard, Lisa, Kathy, and Erica and grandchildren Monique, Justin, Aaron, Alyssa, Andres and Eliana.
Carmen and beloved Pablo were together for 51 years. They began dating on Thanksgiving week 1970. Carmen worked as a bookkeeper at the Board of Education, City of New York prior to retiring. She dedicated her life to her family, finding her greatest joy in creating a warm, loving home filled with laughter, good food, and unwavering support for her husband, children and grandchildren. Her legacy is one of selfless love, resilience, and her belief and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Carmen’s memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends. Her legacy as a mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend will endure, and her spirit will continue to inspire us. In our hearts, she lives on, and we will forever honor the legacy of a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact.
