We mourn the loss of Barbara A. Silvey who passed away on November 25, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Helen Bavaro and with her sister Linda, moved to Long Island at an early age. Her youth was spent with her large extended family's holiday celebrations and family gatherings. After High School she worked at Alexander's Dept. Store where she made many friends and rose to a position as a department manager. She loved to travel with friends and partake in sports like tennis and bowling. Close to her sister Linda and her niece and nephew, Denise and Brian who she showered with love and gifts. She wed Ed Silvey and enjoyed 18 years of marriage until his untimely passing in 2014. Together they loved to travel and spend time with their beloved dog Pepper and later Sophie. She loved animals and was very charitable to animal causes. After Ed passed, she rejoined the work force, working in a local senior center kitchen. Her caring nature and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
