Barbara M. Parchment

Barbara was born in September 1934 in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica. She came to live in the United States with her mom and extended family. As a teenager, she graduated from high school in New York City and worked as an administrative assistant for several companies. Barbara met her husband Earl at the same apartment building where they both lived. They had known each other's families from Jamaica.  They married around 1961 and they had their only daughter, Carolyn, three years later. Unfortunately, in 1968 Barbara became widowed and raised her daughter with the help of family. In 1972, she bought and built her home in Malverne, NY where she lived until her passing on April 1, 2026. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn, son-in-law David, brothers Dennis and Owen, her grandchildren Mia, David, Joseph and Marley the dog. Barbara was a kind and loving person who will forever be in our hearts.
