Aurora “Auring” or “Au-Au” Paragas was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 78 years of life. She departed her loving family on December 7, 2022. Aurora was born in Dagupan City, Philippines on February 25, 1944 to Federico and Constancia Lomibao. Aurora was wife to Alberto E. Paragas Sr. and mother to Diane, Christine, and Alberto Jr. She raised her children with love and devotion in Valley Stream, NY.
Aurora graduated from Dagupan City high school in the Philippines. Then continued her education at Lyceum of the Philippines University and received her bachelor’s degree in foreign service. Aurora was known to be the matriarch of her dear family and friends. When you wanted straightforward advice, she was the go-to. Aurora was so thoughtful, never forgetting a birthday and keeping in touch with her loved ones to find out the latest gossip. She really enjoyed music, cooking her Filipino favorites with Elvis Presley playing in the background and being the first on the dance floor doing the boogie and cha-cha with her “di” (husband). And we can’t forget her love for the slot machines.
She will be sorely missed and survived by her husband Alberto E. Paragas Sr.; daughter Diane; daughter Christine and husband Chris; son Alberto Jr. and wife Rita; grandchildren Hailey, Olivia, Gavin, and Alexander; two sisters Rosario and Lydia; and her many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
