Antoinette Daloia, 94, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2021 in the care of doctors and nurses at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital. Antoinette was born on May 16, 1927 to Vincenzo (“James”) and Anna Giordano in Glen Cove, NY.
Antoinette married Adolphe (“Rudy”) Daloia on January 21, 1945, in Glen Cove. Together they had two children, Alfred and Ann Marie. They lived in Ozone Park, Queens, surrounded by Rudy’s siblings and their children. The family was close, and spent many meals, holidays, and other special occasions together. Antoinette was a wonderful home cook, and all the best family stories start and end with everyone around a table.
Antoinette, known as Aunt Toni to many, was beloved by her family, neighbors, friends, and all who knew her. Later in life, she and Rudy moved to Merrick to live with Ann Marie and her family, husband Anthony and granddaughter Alexandra. Many children grew up on the same street, and Toni was a grandmother to all of the neighborhood kids. In recent years, she loved seeing pictures of Alex’s friends’ children and hearing about how everyone was doing.
Antoinette is predeceased by her husband and son. She is survived by her daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter, grandson-in-law Jordan, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, and in recognition of her late son Alfred’s brave service in the U.S. Marine Corps, the family asks that donations be made in Antoinette’s memory to Marine Toys for Tots.
