It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Anthony “Tony” Joseph Spezio.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane B. Spezio, his son, Anthony J Spezio (Wilmina) and his grandchildren, Anthony J Spezio, Jr and Aurelia J Spezio.
He was a devoted husband, caring father, loving grandfather, and a kind friend. He was an avid fan of the Yankees and loved Motown music.
Tony has always felt a calling to helping others. He was dedicated to serving his Valley Stream community and contributed in various ways. Over the years he held roles as the CMPTA President, founding the Memorial Junior High School’s school spirit store and working at the Valley Stream Teacher Center.
In 2018, he was honored by the Chamber of Commerce, with his wife Jane, with the Special Recognition Award for their decades of civic work in Valley Stream. Tony was also the Herald’s 2015 Person of the Year for his commitment to community service.
Tony is remembered deeply by all who knew and loved him.
