Thomas Savage Obituary

Obituary for Thomas Edmund Savage

Thomas E. Savage, 75, of Port St. Lucie passed away November 30, 2019 after his brave battle with small cell prostate cancer. He was born January 3, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Thomas and Mildred Savage in Bay Ridge, NY. He started his career with New York Life Insurance Company in 1963, during which he met Ms. Margaret Hayes. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1965 and served for two years as a medic in the Vietnam War. In 1968 after having returned from service and spending time with his love Margaret, they were married. Thomas and Margaret moved to Valley Stream in 1973 to raise their family. After decades of dedicated service at New York Life Thomas retired to his summer home in Cairo, NY. Thomas and Margaret started coming to Ft. Pierce, FL about 12 years ago during the winter months until finally settling down in Port St. Lucie 5 years ago. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed face timing with his grandchildren, but his greatest joy was his family.

Thomas is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 51 years, Margaret Savage; children, Brian Savage, Kevin Savage, Laura Savage (Michael Nuite); 2 grandchildren, Corinne, Dilan; sisters, Mary Kearney (Alan), Susan Sheftick (John); and many loving family members.
