Natalie was a loving and dedicated wife to Horace whom she married after the war. They enjoyed their home together by the beach and often traveled to Saratoga for the summers. Natalie and Horace raised their son Robert surrounded by Natalie’s close knit family. Their son was their pride and joy. Later they welcomed their daughter-in-law and two grandchildren into their lives. They were always willing babysitters, eager to spend time with their beautiful grandchildren.
Natalie had a very close and loving relationship with her three sisters and her brother. She loved her family so much and nothing would make her happier than when they were all gathered together. There was always enough room, food and extra chairs for anyone who came to her door. Almost every weekend those gatherings would be at her home where there would be card games, laughter and just a lot of fun. There would also be lots of food and definitely ice cream.
In spite of Natalie’s handicap, she was a determined and confident woman in control of her life. Natalie kept a beautiful home and together with her husband cared for several boxers over the years and two very funny parrots. Although she was often challenged, Natalie took it all in stride and managed each task beautifully.
Natalie spent a lot of time in Manhattan with her sister Dee taking adult Ed classes - always wanting to learn new and interesting things. She also belonged to various local organizations and was President of the local women’s auxiliary and YMCA years ago. Natalie loved to travel and was always ready for a new adventure.
Natalie was kind, generous and selfless. She would help her friends and family with anything they needed. She would never let those she loved go without.
Natalie’s laughter and funny jokes will be missed at all of our family gatherings. Future parties and holidays will not be the same without her.
Till we all meet again.....
