Daniel I Young (née Daniel I Yereshefsky) passed peacefully at home on May 20, 2019 at age 87. He was born March 2, 1932 in Manhattan, New York to Isador and Mollie Yereshefsky. He was preceded in passing by his older sisters Della Yereshefsky and Dorothy (Yereshefsky) Scholl. He attended Pace University as the first member of his family to attend college, but was drafted into the Korean Conflict, where he served two years in the Army and was discharged honorably. He married Roslyn Drucker (Young), who survives him as his widow, with whom he had two children, Perry Young and Marlene (Young) Rosati. He is survived by his children, as well as daughter-in-law Regina Young and beloved grandchildren Sophia, Phillip and Justin Young. He is also survived by beloved nephews Gary Scholl, Dr. Gerald Scholl and Brian Scholl, and their respective families. Visitation and a memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. May 27 at Edward F. Lieber Funeral Home in Valley Stream, and entombment will be held 10:00 a.m. May 28 at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Glendale (Queens).
